How do you writers collect your thoughts?

I use index cards to list a few key words for future project ideas (characters, settings, plot points, etc...) I carry 3 x 5 cards with me in case an idea comes up while out and about. If I'm making a decision on plot points I categorize the index cards by pro and con or story potentiality, this can be considered critical thinking I guess. I also plot my stories scene by scene using a cork board and index cards utilizing different colored cards for subplots, themes and such. I suppose you could use the cork board in a similar manner for something like the Ben Franklin pro and con (pro on the right side, con on the left) analysis of ideas or the spider web of causality using yarn for connections.

I've been wanting to learn boxing for a long time and recently signed up for classes at a local boxing gym. I went to the gym twice and learned the basics like the types of punches, punching form, stance, and basic footwork stuff. However, a sudden and unexpected financial emergency made me cancel my membership at the gym because it was too expensive for me to be able to keep up. I happened to be telling this to my father yesterday and he offered to give me a heavy bag, a speed bag, a set of gloves, and some wraps he never used that he had laying in his basement. I was wondering if it would be a good idea for me for me to use that equipment to keep practicing the techniques I learned in my short time at the boxing gym or if it would be a waste of time because I can't afford a real trainer or coach. Hi, so I slipped on a wet floor and was told I sprained my PCL at the ER. This was 4 days ago. I've been following the regimen of keeping it wrapped and using crutches to take some strain off it as well as taking ibuprofen as well as another prescription pain med. I've noticed my knee seems to be popping at times and when not wrapped for a few hours (at night) it feels heavy if I go to stand up to go to the restroom. There are also random muscle twitches associated with it. Anyone else experienced these symptoms with a knee sprain?

Hooked up car cd player and it doesnt work.?

So I bought a new cd player and when I took out my old the wire plugin didn't match my new one. So I looked at each set of wires and I cut off the old plugin. I grounded the black wire with the metal piece to a screw inside my dash. Then I split the same wires of each set and twisted them together and then used electrical tape to cover them. There were some extra cords but I had no where to hook them up so I wrapped them up so they wouldn't just be open inside of the dash. I then plugged in the power (or antenna) not sure which one it was but it fit my new cd player as well. I then put my dash back together and screw in and plug back in everything I had messed with in order to get to my cd player. I turn my car on to see if my cd player works and I here it make a noise (the cd player itself) but it didn't come on. No lights, no sound, nothing. What did I do wrong? How do I make it work??

Advice for a newly terminated employee...?

I started a job approx. a month ago. The job was to contact current and potential customers for sales. The first two days, the general manager told me to look around the computer and find what I would need (this was on Thurs and Fri). On that Friday, she told me she wanted me to start making calls on Monday. I have plenty customer service and sales experience, however, I do not know how this company works or anything about their products. On Monday, I arrive on time ready to work. The general manager never showed up...no call...no email...nothing. This was the first of many days that I didn't hear from her at all. After a week or so (on a Friday), I emailed her and told her I felt like I needed some training on policies, procedures, and products. The next Monday, she called and said that she would be there on Tuesday. She did come in on Tuesday, but I only got about 45 minutes to an hour of her time. Then, she was right back to not being there. So really, I received NO training...only answers to some questions that I had jotted down when she wasn't there. To make matters worse, if I did try to call her, she didn't answer. Any emails would take a minimum of 1-2 hours for her to answer. I know sometimes people are busy, but shouldn't a general manager be accessible to employees??? This past Friday, I was working, and heard her come into the office talking on her cell phone. She did this for about 30 minutes or so, before she came in my office and told me that I was terminated. The form that she gave me said that my sales were not what they were used to. I was never given any quotas or expectations for sales numbers. I have NEVER been fired from a job until now. So....am I solely responsible for my termination, or does some of the blame lie with the employer??? I have no idea what to do...it was totally unexpected and my bills are going to fall behind quickly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Humidity in a cageeee? Help? 10POINTS!?

I just purchased a Pac Man Frog (Horned Frog). He's very tiny now no where near full grown I have everything I need for him. My rooms super cold and There's nothing I can do about that..... It's in the basement so i can't keep the humidity in the cage at 80%... I got it to 55% tops... Why did my car SUDDENLY feel like there was a resistance on the wheels?

I drive a 2003 Acura RSX, front wheel drive, with a manual transmission, and today after getting my food for lunch my car suddenly felt like there was a resistance holding it back from moving and accelerating as easily as it usually does. Also it felt like there was a resistance against the steering and the brakes seemed to engage quicker than normal. It has continued to drive like that since then for the like 30 more miles I had to drive that day. Your lunch is good, but you need more meat, protein. try adding some lean chicken breast to your wrap. Ditch the cheez its completely! If you want to know why, place a cheez it on a piece of paper overnight and when you wake up, you'll see a wet spot around the cheez it, that is all the fat and oil in one cheez it! Replace the cheez its with something like 8-10 salt free almonds. Your midafternoon snack is okay, just don't eat too many chips because they most likely do contain salt, which will cause you to bloat. Dinner sounds good, but again, add fish or chicken just to get in your protein for the day. You're also doing good with the water, remember ONE whole gallon a day is perfect for losing weight and cleansing your system :)

I would rinse the gash and try to get all of the dirt/debris out, then I would secure a bandage by wrapping gauze around the dog's middle section. I would try to splint the leg to keep it from moving and causing more damage. I would then leave all the supplies and (assuming I could) I would carry the dog back to civilization no matter how long it took. I wouldn't leave the dog unless absolutely necessary because I would be worried it would try to follow and injure itself even more.

I am currently at 5/8 and I have silicone plugs in. Ive had them in for 3 months maybe 4 and they completely healed so tried last week to put in 3/4 silicone tunnels and my ears felt like they were in fire! My boyfriend was unemployed for a year of our relationship...finally he found a good job a few months ago.My boyfriend works ALL the time and he works difficult hours. He works over time all the time and works super late at night so half the time he ends up staying at his really good friends house that he works with because his friend lives right down the street from his work whereas he lives a good 30-40 min away from his job. Basically its been hard getting used to him not being around as much as he used to be, we agreed that the two days a week he has off of work are "our" days together. yes its been hard only seeing him twice a week but when we do see eachother its something that we both realllllly look forward to and we do really fun stuff when we spend time together. Well....we finally started getting into the groove of his work schedule but yesterday he was over at my house and he got a voicemail from another job. My boyfriend then explained to me that his friend/co-worker that he goes home with after work sometimes has a friend that needs work done to his boat and needs the wood and a bunch of stuff re-done on the boat and wants my boyfriend and his friend to help re-store the boat. The only upsides to this job is that he'll be making GOOD money and that this retsoring the boat job is only going to be a 3 month project max. My boyfriend explained to me that he feels that he really needs to take this job to plan for our future. So now he will be working two jobs and we really wont see eachother! I speak English and German and a ton of Japanese. The thing about Japanese is that almost every syllable or mora ends in a vowel rather than a consonant and in English or German, it depends on the word. If I was using a singular noun in German, it'd usually end in a consonant but if it was a plural noun, it'd usually end in a vowel. Do you know what I'm saying? Now for English and German, although I spoke those 2 languages first, it's a little hard to explain the mouth movement in words. In Japanese, the mouth moves constantly up and down and every question you ask ends in か and Japanese has a ton of words that would constantly rhyme together in the same sentence than in English or German and it sometimes I'm speaking a lazy Chinese language with just a different pitch of the words and vowels or syllables. In fact, all k sounds in any language have a vibration from the throat or is that g? So do you say か or が? Z makes a buzzing sound. That's why bees go buzz buzz buzz and not buss buss buss. In fact bees is spelled bees but is pronounced BEEZ. The h sound seems to be rushing up from the throat so like when you say the Japanese word for "yes," "はい" it seems to just let your tongue go up and drop down than if you said the French word for "yes", "oui" or not move at all if you say the German word for "yes" "ja" or the English word "yes," and in Korean, for "ne" don't know how you would right that, the tongue will go up in the mouth like an l and then drop down but how many vibrations can you get speaking Japanese than English or German or anything else?
